CALLOS: Complexed calcium feed

CALLOS is the latest addition to the AIVA Horticulture bio-fortification range. Utilising Flex complex nutrient uptake technology, calcium is supplied as a carbon and amide complex with amide nitrogen, boron, and essential amino acids. This low scorch formulation provides calcium in a readily available, high uptake form to ensure this low mobility plant element gets directly to where it is needed.

  • Increased calcium uptake
  • Increased pest/disease tolerance
  • Low scorch formulation
  • Low nitrogen formulation

Complexed calcium feed

CALLOS is designed to be used as part of a foliar programme, either to directly treat or as part of a preventative programme, for calcium nutrient deficiency issues, such as tip burn, blossom end rot, or bitter pit. It is an ideal choice when looking to ensure that plant cells remain strong and turgid.

Calcium is a relatively plant immobile element. Deficiencies are usually caused due to low calcium availability, because of lock up within the soil, or due to water stress which results in low transpiration rates. It needs a positive transpiration stream to move up through the plant efficiently.

By using CALLOS the plant can easily access the supplied calcium, as it is protected from any kind of ion lock up, utilising flex complex nutrient uptake technology to deliver a safe, complexed package of supportive elements, designed to increase uptake and efficiency of calcium applications.

CALLOS is key to your foliar feed programme, not just as a treatment for deficiencies but as part of your nutrient management plan, naturally bolstering plant cell walls and cell membranes ensuring strong cell growth.

Function of CALLOS
CALLOS utilises complexing technology which increases calcium uptake via the leaf with less risk of scorch, more commonly associated with calcium based foliar, or reacting with other salts found in solution or on the leaf surface. Meaning more is available for rapid uptake by the plant. This low nitrogen formulation also prevents weak and leggy growth at a time when plants need to be focussing on flower and fruit formation.

Applying CALLOS
Used as part of nutrition programme alongside the AIVA Horticulture armoury, CALLOS will form part of a formidable nutrient package to ensure plants remain healthy and less prone to pest or disease stresses. Typical foliar applications of CALLOS are between 2-3 L/ha, repeated at 10-21 day intervals.
