Prevent slug damage with our new nematode product - Exhibitline Ph

Introducing our new nematode product, Exhibitline Ph, a brand-new slug control product which contains the naturally occurring nematode species Phasmarhabditis hermaphrodita. This species of nematode will actively seek, infect, and kill a vast range of common slug and snail species, such as Arion and Deroceras.

Exhibitline Ph is a brand-new, environmentally friendly alternative to existing molluscicides and is used easily with standard equipment such as a watering can or a nema sprayer, so is a real benefit to growers. This nematode species can provide a preventative control as part of an IPM programme or as a curative control.

Best applied between March to October, Exhibitline Ph works by entering the slug’s body through natural openings, releasing symbiotic bacteria to stop the slug from feeding. The slug eventually dies approximately one week or longer after infection, depending on exposure rate and environmental conditions.

Benefits of using Exhibitline Ph:

  • Usable with all standard equipment

  • Spraying is easy

  • These nematodes naturally occur in soils, so they are safe to the environment and beneficial organisms

  • Safe to use in organic environments

  • No post-harvest interval

Application Instructions

  • Advised water quantity: 1 litre per m².

  • Application methods: watering can, hose end nematode applicator (e.g., Nema Super Sprayer), Dosatron, knapsack sprayer.

  • Remove filters below 1mm to prevent nematode backup.

  • Avoid mixing Exhibitline Ph into cold water to prevent cold water shock; use lukewarm/room temperature water.

  • Recommended application time: early morning or late evening.

  • If ground is dry, wet the top surface before nematode application.

  • Curative rate for Exhibitline Ph: 300,000 nematodes/m².

  • Preventative rate as part of a programme: 120,000 nematodes/m².

12 million pack application guides using a watering can or Nema Super Sprayer

With larger nematode pack sizes, it becomes more practical to apply via an applicator rather than a watering can due to the water volume required and area to cover.

Coverage rates:

Single pack of 12 million nematodes:

  • Curative rate for slug activity: 40m².

  • Preventative control rate in a programme: 100m².

  • Adjust rates and stock solution quantities accordingly for other pack sizes.

Using a watering can for a 12 million pack

40m² and 100m² application guide

  • Use one 12 million pack of Exhibitline Ph.

  • Mix with 1 litre of water to create a stock solution.

  • Ensure water temperature is not too cold to prevent cold water shock to nematodes.

  • Continually agitate nematodes in the stock solution to prevent settling (1cm per minute) and drowning.

  • Apply the stock solution within 4 hours from mixing.

40m² curative rate

1x 10 litre watering can will cover 10m² of area/ 1 litre of solution per m², totalling 4x 10 litre watering cans for the 40m² curative rate.

Section off 250ml of stock solution into a 10 litre capacity watering can, stir and apply early morning or late afternoon.

100m² preventative rate

1x 10 litre watering can will cover 10m² of area/ 1 litre of solution per m², totalling 10x 10 litre watering cans for the 100m² preventative rate.

Section off 100 ml of stock solution into a 10 litre capacity watering can, stir and apply early morning or late afternoon.

Using a Nema Super Sprayer for a 12 million pack

40m² curative rate

1x Nema Super Sprayer will cover 20m² of area for the Exhibitline Ph, totalling 2x Nema Super Sprayer containers required for the 40m² curative rate.

Section off 500 ml from the stock solution into 500ml of water in the container, stir and apply.

100m² preventative rate

1x Nema Super Sprayer will cover 20m² of area for the Exhibitline Ph, totalling 5x Nema Super Sprayer containers required for the 100m² preventative rate.

Section off 200ml from the stock solution into 800ml of water in the container, stir and apply.
