Chestnut Tree House is an Arundel-based children’s hospice caring for 300 children and young adults with progressive life-shortening conditions and providing care in the local community. The charity’s goal is to provide the best quality of life for children, young people and their families, and to offer practical, social and spiritual support throughout each child’s life, however short it may be.
We have been supporting Chestnut Tree House with a number of fundraising activities for the last two years, and have raised over £6,000 to date. This year, as in previous years, employees were given the choice of three charities to vote for, and for the third year running, Chestnut Tree House received the highest number of votes.
We are now looking forward to undertaking a number of fundraising activities over the coming year in support of this inspirational charity.
The team have already raised significant funds for the charity by fielding a team of ten members of employees for the Three Peaks Challenge, which alone raised £4,000 for Chestnut Tree House. Particularly close to the hearts of all Fargro employees is the annual Volunteer Day. This is when participating employees are given a day off work to spend at Chestnut Tree House putting their horticultural expertise to great use in the charity’s gardens, to ensure they provide a tranquil and uplifting experience for the hospice’s patients and families.
Other activities have included a Christmas raffle and participation in Christmas Jumper Day, along with more unusual events such as the Monthly Flowers Initiative in which Fargro’s customers donate their flowers, which are then purchased by Fargro employees, with all proceeds going to the charity.
Richard Hopkins, Fargro Managing Director says “We are delighted that our employees have once again chosen to lend their support to Chestnut Tree House. The charity and its hardworking employees and volunteers are an inspiration to us all, and highly deserving of any support we can provide. We are very proud of our team, and the way in which it has engaged with the Chestnut Tree House fundraising initiatives, especially those who undertook the Three Peaks Challenge! We are very happy to continue building our valued relationship with this charity..”
