Plant Primers

Stay ahead of pests and disease - naturally.

Plant Primers are a new category of crop protection product that works with plant biology rather than against it. Using proprietary Neo-Prime Technology, Plant Primers activate the plant's own immune system before attack occurs - enabling a faster, stronger natural defence response to pests and disease, without additional energy costs, resistance issues or phytotoxicity.

Compatible with beneficial insects and biological controls, Plant Primers integrate naturally within a Holistic Growing programme. Fargro is proud to be one of the first UK horticultural wholesalers to supply Plant Primers to commercial growers

Neo-Prime Technology - How does it work?

Neo-Prime Technology primes the plant's immune system so it can respond faster and stronger to attack. Using natural metabolites, it promotes plant resilience without stress, or yield loss- keeping crops healthier and more productive.

COMMON QUESTIONS

What are Plant Primers?

Plant Primers are a new category of crop protection product that activates a plant's natural immune system before pest or disease attack occurs. Using Neo-Prime Technology, they enable a faster, stronger defence response - without resistance issues, phytotoxicity or yield loss.

How do Plant Primers differ from conventional crop protection products?

Conventional crop protection products react to pest or disease pressure after it occurs. Plant Primers work preventatively — priming the plant's natural defences in advance so it can respond more effectively when under attack.

Are Plant Primers compatible with biological controls?

Yes - Plant Primers are specifically designed to be compatible with beneficial insects and biological control programmes. They work alongside biocontrols rather than against them, making them well suited to integrated pest management (IPM) strategies and Holistic Growing programmes.

Which Plant Primer product is right for my crop?

There are three products in the range: PhytoPrime I targets biting and sucking insect pests; PhytoPrime M targets mite pests; and PhytoPrime D targets fungal pathogens. Contact Fargro's technical team for advice on the right product and programme for your specific crop and growing system.

Are Plant Primers safe to use around beneficial insects?

Yes - all three PhytoPrime products are compatible with beneficial insects, making them suitable for use within IPM programmes where biocontrols are already in place.

Can Plant Primers be used alongside conventional fertilisers and crop protection inputs?

Yes. Plant Primers are designed to complement existing programmes rather than replace them. Fargro's technical team can advise on integration and help you build Plant Primers progressively into your growing programme.

Who supplies Plant Primers in the UK?

Fargro is one of the first UK horticultural wholesalers to supply Plant Primers to commercial growers. The range is supported by Fargro's technical team.
