Fargro Host Series of Technical Visits

Fargro’s bio – control expert Neil Helyer recently co-ordinated 2 days of technical exchange, bringing together staff from Syngenta Bioline, the RHS and horticultural enterprises across West Sussex.

The itinerary included visits to Holland Nursery, where Hall Hunter produce both raspberry and blackberry crops under protection, Walberton Nursery a member of the Farplants Group and grower of ornamental plants for the garden centre market, and Roundstone Nurseries and VHB Herbs, both located at Runcton. A technical visit to Becker Underwood’s nematode production site in Littlehampton was also included.

Helyer commenting afterwards explained ‘It was very rewarding being able to bring together the biological control manufacturers with the end users. The visits certainly stimulated a lot of worthwhile discussion which no doubt will lead to even greater innovation on behalf of the manufacturers.’

While Mike Wainwright Walberton Nursery’s Technical Manager confirmed how beneficial the meetings had been. ‘ Being able to talk through issues as seemingly as straight forward as Gemini sachet distribution, directly with Syngenta Bioline employees was invaluable!’

Fargro would like to thank all the local host businesses for taking part in this technical exchange and we look forward to facilitating similar session in the future.
